Does AAA do road tests in MA? ›

AAA also offers a comprehensive 45-minute Confidence Course session that allows students to practice maneuvers on a closed course, just like the DMV road test. In addition, AAA can also sponsor students for their road test. Road tests are scheduled directly through the DMV by the student or parent.

If you fail your road test, you must wait 2 weeks before taking another test. You are not allowed to attempt more than six road tests in a 12-month period. The Massachusetts Rider Education Program (MREP) is a program within the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

When I contacted AAA, a spokeswoman said there is no prohibition. It's just that AAA has opted not to venture onto the Pike in deference to the State Police's ability to respond more quickly.

AAA membership costs about $29 to $65 per year for Massachusetts residents, depending on the AAA affiliate and plan. With AAA, members can also get emergency roadside assistance when they are traveling out of state. Insurance with AAA is available in Massachusetts for AAA members, too.

Can I use my AAA anywhere in the US? ›

AAA roadside assistance is available to AAA members any day, any time, in any car, whether you are the passenger or the driver. As long as the member is with the car, they can get roadside service - anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.

The fastest and easiest way to schedule a road test is online. If you need to reschedule a road test, simply visit the online service center and select 'schedule a road test'.

RMV FEES: The RMV charges a COMPLETELY SEPARATE fee of $85: This includes $50 for your picture license (one time payment) and $35 road test application fee (must be paid each time you take a test). Again, these fees are COMPLETELY SEPARATE from IDRIVE and must be paid through the RMV DIRECTLY.

Drivers over 18 years old can schedule their driving test as soon as they get their permit. 16 and 17 year old drivers must hold their permits for 184 days and complete the driving school requirements before they are eligible to test.

An appointment is required to visit to conduct License or ID related transactions. Note that Registration-related transactions can be performed at an RMV Service Center without an appointment.
