Can I go to DMV in NY without an appointment? ›

We strongly encourage making a reservation. If an office is experiencing long wait times when you arrive, ONLY those with a reservation will be permitted to enter.

The following NJ MVC services will be offered at the AAA locations: Driver Licenses - License renewal, duplicate license, address or name change, add boat endorsem*nt, add veteran designation, register to vote and/or make organ donation selections.

If you qualify, make a reservation for “Real ID” at the MA AAA Office of your choice, record the application form and BRING ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR REAL ID TO YOUR APPOINTMENT. Please see our services, as well as related forms and pricing details here.

What happens if I renew my license after it expires NJ? ›

There is no grace period for New Jersey driver's licenses. You are allotted seven months prior to your license's expiration in order to complete a renewal. Once your license is expired, it is considered invalid, however, you will still be able to renew it in person.

Active New York license plates can be surrendered and cancelled at all New York branches except Oneonta and Utica. Required Form: None. Cost: None.

To complete the REAL ID application process, you will need to make an appointment at a participating AAA branch and bring your original documents. Use a PO Box? Proof of a physical address is required.

You must have a Massachusetts Liquor ID if you want to use the ID to prove that you are of legal drinking age (21). The regular Massachusetts ID will not work for this purpose! You cannot process a Liquor ID application online.

Does NYC DMV accept walk-ins? Yes, they do. However, note that they operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Consequently, wait times can become lengthy, especially during peak hours.
