CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- With just a few weeks remaining until the conference championship meet, UNI track and field will make the short trip south to the Iowa City area this weekend to compete in the Musco Twilight, hosted by the University of Iowa at the Francis X. Cretzmeyer Track in Coralville. Competition is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 20.

Coming off a hot weekend at the Jim Duncan Invitational in Des Moines a week ago, the Panthers brought home seven individual titles among their attached athletes competing. Caroline Benfeldt-Sorensen, Ariana Yaklich, Olivia Kramer and Madelyn Sanda kicked off the meet by winning the women's 4x100-meter relay in a time of 46.36. UNI hurdler/long jumper, Jack Sumners secured the men's 110-meter hurdle title in a personal-best time of 13.89, while Emma Hoins topped the field in the women's 1,500-meter run with a winning time of 4:33.52. Caroline Benfeldt-Sorensen came in second place in the women's 100-meter dash for the Panthers in a personal-best time of 11.75, as Luke Meyers (unattached) finished second in a personal-best time of 10.56 in the men's 100-meter sprint.

Competing unattached, Chase Knoche took second in the men's 800 meters, running a 1:50.98. Kate Crawford won the women's 5000-meter race in a personal-best time of 17:05.21. In the field, Katie Fare took home the women's shot put title for UNI with a throw of 16.78 meters as an unattached athlete. Alivia Silvestri (unattached) won the women's pole vault after clearing 3.45 meters, competing unattached in the event. Chloe Largent came in second place in the women's high jump (1.60 meters), while Katy Stephens finished second with a jump of 5.57 meters. Justice Miller came out on top for the Panthers in the men's javelin throw with a personal-best throw of 62.14 meters to claim first place. Brendan Safley took home first-place in the men's pole vault, with a vault of 4.90 meters across the board.
