Our bestselling Chakra Collection is based on seven sacred symbols from Eastern philosophy. This year we are going into more depth with each individual Chakra by heroing one every month. With May focusing on the Sacral Chakra, this month is all about the Solar Plexus Chakra.
So what is the Solar Plexus Chakra? Energy healer Georgia Coleridge shares her knowledge with us on the Solar Plexus Chakra, the symptoms of an unbalanced one and how to balance it.
Where is the Solar Plexus Chakra?
This fiery chakra is linked with the colour yellow. It governs your upper tummy, between your navel and your breastbone.
This chakra is all about action and transformation. It is linked with energy, willpower and the element of fire. It gives you the va-va-voom to move forward in life, with confidence and clarity.
So how do you feel when the Solar Plexus Chakra is strong?
You feel focused and confident, ready for any challenge. You are organised, positive and can get things done. A strong helps you to stand up for yourself and create the life you want, rather than getting tangled up in other people’s problems. This area is also in charge of gut intuition. It might tell you immediately if you’ve met the person you are going to marry. Or else warn you to stay away from someone who is dodgy.
What is the Solar Plexus Chakra is weak?
When this chakra isn’t charged up properly, you are like a torch with a flattish battery: you don’t glow very brightly. Everything seems overwhelming. It is hard dragging yourself out of bed in the morning, and hard making a dent in your To Do list. With your family and friends you might feel like a bit of doormat. At work, you might put up with a mundane job, rather than taking the initiative.
Can the Solar Plexus Chakra be too strong?
If you find it hard to switch off, worry too much, or have trouble sleeping, this chakra could be spinning too fast. You can calm it down by switching off your social media, going for a walk, taking a yoga class (a gentle one!) or spending a quiet night at home, doing absolutely nothing.
How can you heal and balance the Solar Plexus Chakra?
This chakra is associated with a beautiful, glowing, yellow colour, so every time you see a bowl of lemons, or a splash of sunlight, it’s a reminder of your solar plexus and how important it is. During the day, take some nice slow yoga breaths deep into your belly. How does this area feel? You can nourish this chakra by standing up tall, so that you look and feel confident, and making a point of eating more yellow food (apparently this is the food we associate most with happiness.) If you have any big challenges, use positive self-talk, and tackle them one piece at a time.
Could a Solar Plexus Chakra Bracelet help?
The symbol of this chakra is a triangle inside a lotus flower. The triangle represents fire. Every time you see it glinting on your wrist, it’s a reminder that you can draw on the beautiful fiery energy of determination and courage.
