DISCLAIMER: This uses the Pre-Verse 2 map and lore, so the Aratel and Etrean seas aren't in two completely different Luminants, so the speed gate connecting Merit, Vigils and Summer still exists for the sake of the conflict in this story. Also the Ignition Union are still idiots who built speed gates connecting Merit to Vigils.
The Central Authority, after weighing their options, decides to try and cut off the Kingdom of Etrea's two islands in one (relatively) swift attack on the driftland situated between both of their speed gates.
Erisia.
If this operation succeeds, they will have a direct path to their allies in the Summer Isle, their enemies in Etris and the Isle of Vigils, and control over the majority of the Etrean Sea.
They, however, underestimate the threat that the beasts of Erisia pose, confident in their (relatively) modern firearms and superior ground forces.
They don't know that the Lord of Erisia is still alive and kicking, and would not take kindly to invaders on his island.
Put it simply, the Central Authority was in for one nasty surprise...
