Strategic Procurement Outlook
The Australian Digital Health Agency (the Agency) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established by the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (Establishing the Australian Digital Health Agency) Rule 2016. The Agency's outcome is “To deliver national digital healthcare systems to enable and support improvement in health outcomes for Australians”.
In delivering this outcome, the Agency takes a lead role in connecting healthcare consumers and providers to a modern healthcare system that supports Australians and their care teams to access health care information, when and where they need it. To achieve our objectives and deliver on the Government's digital health reform agenda, from time to time the Agency needs to approach the market to procure goods and/or services.
In the short and medium-terms the Agency will be procuring products and services that support the ongoing secure, reliable trusted operation of Australia’s My Health Record System, deliver critical enhancements, support the move to a modern, FHIR-enabled near-real time personal health record system and begin the journey towards a National Health Information Exchange for Australia.
These procurements, alongside other key programs of work, such as the National Healthcare Interoperability Plan, the continued enhancement of the my health app and support for reforms in both allied and aged care sectors, are designed to deliver a more connected healthcare system, support multidisciplinary team care, provide better information at critical points in a person’s healthcare journey, including transition between care settings, and put Australians more firmly at the centre of their own healthcare.
The Annual Procurement Plan (APP), published on the Austender website, provides details of significant planned procurements (those over $80,000 GST inclusive) and the establishment of panel arrangements. The information provided in the APP is in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and is for planning purposes only - the APP does not represent a solicitation, or constitute a request for proposal, nor is it a commitment by the Australian Government to purchase the described goods and/or services. All procurements listed in the Agency's Annual Procurement Plan are subject to revision or withdrawal.
Request documentation for all open tenders will be available electronically through the AusTender website: www.tenders.gov.au when the Agency approaches the market.
Information about the Agency is located on the Agency's website: www.digitalhealth.gov.au
